Almost there....

Almost by Anne Elliot
This was sooo cute & sad & heartbreaking & confusing, & so many more different emotions.
It's about a girl -Jess- who was almost  raped at a party, but saved by a guy. Except she doesn't remember, even though the guy does. & he still has a crush on her. Even though it was three years ago.
However, now they're forced to hang out because of an internship & hanging out with him is bringing up Jess' memories, especially when she hires him to be her boyfriend...

I give it a 3/5 stars. I really liked the plot & the characters. But sometimes I just felt like it dragged on a little. BUT it was from BOTH characters' point of views & I really love that. Especially since I loved both of them... seriously. i loved them & Kika. I definitely loved her.
Cute read though.

It was Enchanting to Meet You

Read Enchant Me, by Anne Violet (side note: I REALLY like her name).

Anyways, the book was OK.
I really liked the characters, which is important for me as a reader; if I don't like the characters, the book is shot. Alex was refreshing: she strayed from the mold, but not so much that she was an outcast. And let's face it, she was a bad ass (you'll have to read to find out how). Christian was sexy in all the right ways, and sweet & caring, yet kind of scary sometimes.
It was nice to see how their relationship developed. However, I would've liked to see more of the friends, I felt like they were just there to fill in some holes.
And the book was developing nicely until the end. I felt like it kind of dropped at the end. I'm still left with some questions (like what happens to Christian and Alex in Ireland? Does Nicolas ever come out of his coma? How are Alex's powers when they're fully developed? Are they good for anything?). A sequel would be nice. Or an epilogue. Either way. I just feel like there's something missing.
Besides that, I didn't really get a good idea of the bad guy (Nicolas) till the end, and so I didn't really understand what was happening with him throughout most of the book.
However, I did like finding out about the Druids, and the Alex/Christian relationship was cute.
3/5 stars *** :)

I Missed My Hogwarts Acceptance Letter

I just read Descension by by B.C. Burgess. It was absolutely great.

Here's the description:
The Angel
After three years caring for her dying mother, Layla Callaway learns she was adopted under unusual circumstances. Following a cryptic message to seek her birth family in Oregon, Layla uproots her lonely life, quickly finding she descends from witches and wizards. Magic is in her blood, and a handsome family friend is eager to prove it. Through a ring imprinted with her birth parents’ memories, Layla’s enigmatic past comes to light, presenting possibilities and trials more chimerical than her wildest dreams.

The Guardian
Quin’s natural charisma yields plenty of witches, but he longs for the lost witch – the mysterious Layla. He's dreamed about her his entire life, envisioning the day he would lay eyes on her face and aura. When that day arrives, not only is he breathless, he’s confronted with the challenge of a lifetime – an innate need to keep her safe and forever by his side.

The Hunter
Employing fiendish manipulation and manpower, Agro uses the arcane force of others to elevate his supremacy and wealth. Nothing pleases him more than latching on to a mystical vein, and never has there been a more enticing source. The divine witch will be his.

& Here's my review:
10/5 stars **********
Oh.My.GOSH. I know I sound like a twelve year old girl who just met the JonasBrothers/JustinBieber/OneDirection, I know. But that's how crazy I am over this book. It was absolutely amazing. I've been looking for a good magic book to read & I found it in this one. I love the Layla/Quin dynamic & the magic aspect of the book is mysterious and fantastical in all the right ways. & the intercalated story of Layla's parents was great.

It starts off with Layla in Oklahoma, after her mother dies, Layla is lost; with only two friends to depend on. Until she meets with her mother's lawyer & she learns [ that she's adopted & her real family is in Oregon [ so she sets off to discover who she is and everything she 's missing.
She meets a mysterious stranger, who divulges that he knows more about her than she lets on & helps her discover everything else she doesn't know, and who she really is... a witch.

I can't wait for the next one. seriously. I need to know SOMETHING. the title, a teaser. the date. ANYTHING!!!

I especially liked this book because of the way it explains the magic thing. I've always loved magic. When I was little, I always wanted to be a witch & I was obsessed with anything that had to do with them. I even dressed up as one for Halloween, 4 years straight. So this book especially hit the spot. Especially the romance between Quin and Layla & Layla's parents. Everything was great <3 OH! & Layla, the main character, is a coffee addict like me & she drinks it with "lots of cream & even more sugar", just like me!! So you know she's a character I like. & Quin is tall, dark, & handsome. & super sweet. so I definitely like him too ;)

So I've dropped off the map again... My bad, school. I'm in the midst of finals, so I've been focused on studying. Everyone is already done & my dear school still goes on. I'm so excited for summer. I'm going to be playing soccer (as always), I'll be getting my license, I'm also traveling to spain for 18 days & I'll be watching the Spain soccer team play against the Puerto Rican one. So it's gonna be a really exciting summer. <3 can't wait! in the meantime, however, I have to study. I'm done with 2/7 finals. So I've got to hit the books!
