Cravings!!

It's Crave by Melissa Darnell

It's the first installment in a series called the Clann (yes, that second n is supposed to be there).
It was interesting because it gives a new outlook on vampires & witches. Usually, the vampires' main enemies are werewolves, but here it's witches! & the heroine just so happens to be a hybrid of the two races. To top it all off, the love interest is next-in-line for leadership of the witches (known as the Clann)
It's like a paranormal Romeo & Juliet!
The heroine, Savannah, is just discovering what she is. The fact that she's a dhampir (half-vampire & half-witch, in this case) is the reason her group of friends suddenly stopped hanging out with her and started avoiding & ridiculing her.
When she comes back after going through puberty (you'll have to read the book to really understand that part) she begins to exhibit new characteristics and she also begins to reconnect with the boy she liked so long ago; Tristin, the future leader of the Clann.

The story was interesting enough; although you'd think that with all the vampires and witches, there'd be more action (but maybe the author is saving that for the next book; at the end, it seems like she's building up to that). & I'd like to see more of the other characters: Anna -the sarcastic best friend-, the mom, the grandma, Tristin's sister; they all added a lot to the story.
I liked that is was in alternating point of views; both characters -Tristin & Savannah- were great and I liked being able to see what was going on from both sides.

3 1/2 out of 5 stars ****
